The Gerry Lenfest Gallery is full of wonderful new work from this year’s ITE fellows. There is quite the range of designs, styles, techniques and some new technologies represented as well. Winifred built her sawdust sculpture from the actual sawdust and cut-offs produced by the fellows to create their work. Fine tuned her video/audio installation that captured the fellows’ making their work alongside of her photographs that captured their hands making their work. Zina and Rex finalize their work selections and displays. Lori, Katie and Karen attend to just a few more details. But the fellows are breathing a sigh of relief. And to celebrate all their hard work, Albert and Tina LeCoff hosted a very nice wine and cheese soiree at their wonderful home and in their garden, and then took the group out to a traditional Jewish fish deli called Hymies in Merion. Wonderful time and great food. All are eager for the exhibition, and to enjoy their short time left as fellows.

Part of Winifred’s installation can be partly seen (without the video projection on wall). Viewers listen through wireless headphones, and view a video titled ” Sounds of Wood” which Winifred shot beginning in June and over the course of her fellowship showing the fellows making their work and recording the sounds of those creative processes. “I was amazed at all the beautiful sounds that come from making wood.” and wanted to capture them for people to hear. Her photographs of the fellows hands working are on the right wall.
