Bandsawed Boxes (repaired) by Colin Pezzano

Winning Bid: $250.00

Item condition: New

Broken but bandaged, “Bandsawed Boxes (repaired)” is a box made from boxes, presenting Colin Pezzano’s unique whimsicality, realism, and reclaiming practices all in one work. The beauty rests in the details. The “cracks” serve as a perfectly imperfect merging of materials, while “bandages” crafted from cherrywood and toothpicks hold the components together for one cohesive box made of many.

Colin Pezzano graduated from University of the Arts in 2014 with a BFA in Crafts. Pezzano maintains and relies heavily on craft practices mixed with humor and pathos to define his work. Upon graduation, Colin received the Windgate Fellowship Award. In the spring of 2015 Pezzano had his first solo show “Contain You” at Bridgette Mayer Gallery. In 2018 Colin had his second solo show “Still Life With Dead Game” At the Allen’s Lane Art Center. In 2020 Colin worked with the group Past Present Projects on a store- front window installation Titled “We’ve Never Met” During his career Pezzano has participated in group shows, juried exhibitions and attended residencies in the USA and Sweden. Pezzano maintains his practice in South Philadelphia out of his basement studio.
